Comfort Shield HVAC, Plumbing and Electric

Keep an eye on your indoor air quality

Maintaining indoor air quality is a key part of maintaining your family’s good health. Poor air quality inside your home can lead to respiratory issues like asthma, allergies and bronchitis, as well as headaches, fatigue and Irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. Poor air quality can also worsen long-term health issues like heart disease and cancer.

Luckily, Comfort Shield offers several products designed to help you have the cleanest air possible inside your home:

UV Purification

Ultraviolet air purifiers can help remove pathogens from the air, including mold, mildew, fungi, DNA-based viruses and bacteria. This can benefit people suffering from asthma or allergies and improve the overall air quality in your home.

Conventional air filters are only effective against particulates, like dust. Air purifiers are proven to safely reduce both biological and chemical contaminants inside the air system and throughout the building. Together, they address more than 99% of the contaminants in the air.

Electronic Air Cleaner

Electronic air cleaners use a combination of filters and filaments to remove dust, pollen, mold and other contaminants down to .3 microns that otherwise get recirculated repeatedly throughout your house or office. For example, the F300 Honeywell Home Electronic Air Cleaner can capture the majority of airborne particles passing through the filter. It’s low maintenance and eco-friendly because it has no filters to replace.

Germicidal UV Kits

An HVAC UV Light helps you stay healthy by sanitizing the air moving through your HVAC system, reducing mold and viruses. UV light for HVAC systems is installed either in your air handler or in your ductwork. When germs move through the central air system, they eventually make it to the sanitizing light. Once the germs are exposed to the light, they absorb the light’s UV rays, which disrupt the DNA of the germ. When bacteria or mold’s DNA is damaged, it will either die or become unable to reproduce.
